Melbourne kicks a goal

On the AFL semi-final weekend, 19th September, the Melbourne Tango community kicked a big goal for Milonga Para Los Ninõs.  Melbourne's first annual gala event was an amazing success.  Close to 250 of Melbourne's tangueros and tangueras dressed up for a night of glamour, dance and entertainment at the beautifully restored Fitzroy Town Hall.

Excellent entertainment from beautiful tango voice Viviana and  band, Ritmo Tango lifted the night.  Diverse dance performances from Nelson & Elizabeth, David & Dianne, Jake & Kay and John and Cheryl capped it off.

Credit goes to Dianne and David of Sidewalk Tango and the large and enthusiastic committee they assembled.  Supper, including hand-made empanadas was provided by the committee.

All in all it was a magnificent night, worthy of the hard work of the organising committee.
