Sydney Storms back

Following the success of the Melbourne milonga, Sydney was not about to be beaten for the second time in one week.  It seemed the entire Tango community turned out to popular tango venue, the Marrickville Hardcourt Tennis Club for "Glitz, Glamour and Generosity" where there was plenty of all three.  This year the dance was organised by social Tango club, Tango Synergy with Patio de Tango.  It added to a busy Tango weekend, right in the middle of the Darling Harbour Latin Fiesta.  Sydney band Tango Bar added delightful and very danceable Tango and the surprise performance - was it ever a surprise - from Chris and Pedro demanded an encore.   All the main teachers danced together in a wonderful demonstration of solidarity and cooperation with us.

Then came the auction.  With an amazing array of prizes and some very generous bidders the auction raised a record sum for MPLN.  The Tango Synergy committee and volunteers did such a good job, perhaops they should be renamed Tango Energy.  Thank you Sydney for a wonderful night.

Pedro Colombi, the Argentine consul-general attended, as always, to express the support of the Argentine Embassy and Consulate in Australia.  We appreciate their ongoing support.
